The shirking violet

It's been very quiet here of late, and for that I'm sorry. I've been on a self-imposed shopping ban for ages, and work has left me with no time for fashion, so I've had little to write about!

The shopping ban was majestically blown out of the water with Liberty's 50% off sale the other night, though, so I'll post some pictures shortly and normal-ish service will resume.

I'm going to Rome at Christmas, and possibly New York in January, so give me your tips for good shopping haunts.... it'll be far too cold for aimless exploring!

Whatever else you do in NYC, make sure to go see the Goth fashion exhibit at FIT!!!!!!! It's there until February.

Rome - oh gosh well you need to explore the cute little boutiques and vintage shop which are very over priced on Via del Governo Vecchio but for bargins go to the Sunday flea market at Porta Portese, Viale de Trastevere.

For a lovely lunch or diner go to Ninos on Via Borgognona near the Spanish Steps

Oh no! Make Do, I didn't see your post before I went. Alas! I was in Trastevere quite a bit this time round [one of my favourite restaurants is there, a great Sicilian place with wonderful swordfish and even better limoncello], but I totally missed the fleamarket.

I'll just have to go back, won't I.....
